AT&T will Acquire T-Mobile For $39 Billion

The first home of the Apple iPhone, AT&T and Deutsche Telekom AG have announced that AT&T would be acquiring T-Mobile USA in a cash and stock transaction that is worth $39 billion dollars.

“This transaction represents a major commitment to strengthen and expand critical infrastructure for our national future,” said AT&T Chairman and CEO, Randall Stephenson.

The transaction is said to improve network quality and also expand the reach of LTE to more than 294 million people. AT&T and T-Mobile customers both should see better service quality when it comes to voice quality as this will increase cell tower density. When the deal closes, AT&T will immediately gain cell cities that would have taken them around five years to build.
