Apple has yet another tablet to “compete” with on the market as Acer is putting out two Android tablets (at the same time) to compete with Apple.

The first will be a 10.1 inch model that will feature a built-in HDMI port with 1080p capabilities. It’ll also have both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. The second one will be a 7-inch tablet with a dual-core processor and running Adobe Flash Player 10.1. It features, much like it’s big brother, an HDMI port and connects via Wi-Fi and 3G. The 7-inch will come with a rear facing HD camera also.

They will both be powered by Android and set for release in April 2011.

Oh, you can also pick up their 10.1 Inch tablet that is running Windows 7, in February 2011. The Window 7 Tablet will come with a docking device that includes a full-size keyboard and weighs in at just 15MM thick. It’ll also have dual-cameras (front and rear) with each featuring 1.3 megapixels. Of course, much like the Acer Android Tablets, it’ll include Wi-Fi and 3G Connectivity.

Will Acer be the ones to take the “King of Tablets” crown for Apple? Only time will tell.

Last December, Mac users around the world participated in what became to be known as the most explosive Mac indie software event in history – MacHeist. Tens of thousands of users participated in MacHeist missions, discovering clues, solving puzzles, and winning free software prizes. And when the fuse ran out, the best software deal in Mac history was unveiled.

Over the course of a week, over 16,000 customers snapped up the bundle. With 25% of each sale going to a charity of the customer’s choice, the event ended up raising $200,000 for important causes.

Now, one year later, MacHeist is ready to make history again. MacHeist 2 is now in progress, and it is set to have more bangs, thrills, and software freebies than last time around. Remember, this deal of a lifetime will only be available once, for a very limited time, so don’t miss out!

Come, Join the fun.

Hindustan Times reports that this is the only software that iPhone has deployed from Asia. “The iPhone does not include a native instant messaging client and we are the only company to offer it,” said the managing director of Geodesic.

Apple Matters has 8 reasons why Windows Users Don’t Switch to a Mac, even though Macs running OS X give the best computing experience on the plant.

It’s not that Macs are perfect, but compared to everything else, there is nothing like the Mac experience.

Here are the reasons;

Ignorance: Ignorance is merely a lack of knowledge, and when it comes to Macs, most Windows users, are extremely uninformed.

The Office: Most office environments run Windows. While this is beginning to change, the reality is that the majority of people are using Windows at the office.

Hardware: An average Windows users may scoff at something like an iMac because they don’t want to pay for a new monitor every time they upgrade their computer. It is hard to play around with Mac’s Hardware.

Price: The perception by Windows users is that Macs are more expensive than Windows PCs. This may have been true in the past, but the new Macs are very comparably priced to similarly equipped PCs.

Lies: One of the Get a Mac ads states that Windows is for spreadsheets and pie-charts, while Macs are for “fun stuff” like photos, movies, etc. To Mac users, this seems both funny and true. Windows users, however, are thinking of the aisles and aisles of games that are available for Windows.

Windows Bashing: Apple and Steve Jobs are constantly making jabs at Vista and Microsoft, and Mac users follow suit. That’s understandable, but when Steve Jobs is constantly berating Vista and Microsoft instead of touting the features and advantages of Apple’s own products, it makes Windows users think that Macs don’t have much going for them.

Vista: The ugly truth is that Vista is the best operating system Microsoft has ever released, and for many users, it is good enough.

Mac Users: When they are shouting about “how much better Macs are”, they’re not convincing anyone to switch, they are scaring them away.
