TextExpander – another Must-Have Mac Application

I’ve been trying out TextExpander for quite sometime (about to run out of the 30 day trial limit) and I’ve realized that I’ve been a semi-handicap Mac-user without it. I got a mailer today announcing the release of the their version 2.x of TextExpander and let me tell you “TextExpander 2.0 Rocks”.

They are currently offering a 20% discount to their SmileOnMyMac customers. I think I became their customer while I got a software from them through one of the Mac Bundle/Heist thingy.

With the new 2.x version, TextExpander allows you to neatly organized your snippets into Groups (I’m more of an organization freak, so I love that clean, organized feeling). I love their new addition of pre-included snippets, auto-correction etc.

New features introduced in TextExpander 2.0

  • Snippet groups
  • Add snippet groups from external files
  • Add snippet groups from URLs (including password-protected URLs with Keychain support)
  • Synchronize snippet groups using .Mac synchronization
  • Print snippets
  • Hotkeys to enable / disable and to create snippets from selection or clipboard
  • Enable or disable groups on a per-application basis
  • Sort snippets by date last used to identify unused snippets for possible deletion
  • AppleScript snippets, which expand to the result of the script
  • More options for sounds
  • Sound settings on a per-group basis
  • Update snippet groups from URLs and external files at regular intervals
  • Improved performance with large numbers of snippets
  • User interface improvements

This is a Must-Have application for Mac-users and is worth every dollar. It is currently sold at $29.95 for a single user license. They even have a 90 day money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the application.
