With the new iWork ‘08, Apple introduces Numbers ‘08 - the mac way to Spreadsheets. It is innovative, powerful, and intuitive, Numbers ‘08 lets you do everything from setting up your family budget to completing a lab report to creating detailed financial documents.
Well, is it time to ditch Microsoft Office altogether and stick to Apple products? Apple iWork is a cheap $79 for a single license. iWork comprises of - Pages, Keynote and Numbers.
I’m not lucky enough to get my hands on the softwares (not yet released in India) but I am seriously hoping that Keynote is improved enough to compete with Powerpoint. That will definitely make the switch to iWork easy, satisfiable and a sense of good feeling. Personally, Microsoft Office is the only Microsoft product that I’m stuck with mostly because of Excel. Don’t advise me on OpenOffice or NeoOffice, they suck like hell on the Mac.
Download Squad have an impressive review of iWork ‘08. Here is an excerpt from the article;
iWork beats Office when you look at costs. It beats Office on user interface, not simply because the shipping version of Office for Mac is now four years old, and it also beats it for sheer simplicity and ease of use. Whilst hard-core Excel users may not find it meets their most technical needs, that’s not to say you can’t try and find out, for Apple is even offering a 30-day trial of the software which you’ll want to see.
